Vietnam Airlines has said it will refund tickets on all flights canceled due to the closure of Vinh International Airport in the central province of Nghe An for expansion.
Starting July 1 the airport will be closed for six months for expansion.
The state-owned carrier said in a statement it would also allow free itinerary change for affected passengers.

To ensure connectivity in the northern and central regions, the airline will increase flights to other airports such as Noi Bai in Hanoi and Tho Xuan in Thanh Hoa Province.
Vietjet Air has yet to provide details about refunds, but travel agents said passengers may choose to retain ticket value for 365 days (to fly to/from Vinh after the expansion is completed) or switch to another airport on the original departure date.
The expansion of Vinh International Airport, estimated to cost VND1 trillion (US$38 million), will see major upgrades to the terminal, runway, taxiways, and aircraft parking areas.
