The flag carrier ranked second among Asian firms on the list, behind Japanese carmaker Toyota Motor, which placed 23rd overall, according to the business magazine’s list released on Wednesday.
It surpassed Delta Airlines in the airline industry, even though the U.S. carrier ranked higher overall at 11th. Air France-KLM followed in third place. United Airlines and Germany’s Lufthansa rounded out the top five.
Business consultancy Korn Ferry, which partnered with Fortune to compile the list, asked executives, directors, and analysts to assess companies in their own industry on nine criteria, including investment value, quality of management and products, social responsibility and ability to attract talent, among others.
From this pool, roughly 3,000 respondents were then asked to identify the 10 companies they admired most.
Singapore Airlines was the only Singapore-based firm to secure a spot in the top 50 this year, marking the airline’s 24th appearance on the annual ranking, according to The Straits Times.
The airline carried a record 41.6 million passengers last year, up 6.6% from 2024, and set a new monthly high of 3.8 million passengers last month.
Outside the top 50, agri-business Wilmar International was the only other Singapore-listed name. It placed fourth within the global food production category, The Business Times reported.
Globally, the 10 most admired companies were mostly from the technology and financial services industries.
Apple retained its position at the top for a 19th consecutive year, while Microsoft (2nd) and Amazon (3rd) made the top three for the seventh consecutive year.
Berkshire Hathaway (6th) and Alphabet (8th) have both maintained top-10 positions for more than a decade, with the former having been featured every year since the list’s launch in 1998.
Nvidia (4th), JPMorgan Chase (5th), Costco Wholesale (7th), Walmart (9th) and American Express (10th) rounded out the top 10.
