Under this agreement, PSL Machinery will provide advanced cashew processing lines, transfer cutting-edge technology, and deliver comprehensive workforce training, setting the stage for the full-scale modernization of Tanzania’s high-potential cashew sector.
According to PSL Machinery, this agreement marks a significant strategic alliance aimed at transforming and sustainably developing Tanzania’s cashew industry. The Tanzanian government, along with the country’s leading cashew cooperatives, recognized the need for a partner with the capacity and expertise to deliver end-to-end solutions. These include strategic consulting, factory design, machinery manufacturing, workforce training, and long-term technical support. With its extensive expertise, Vietnam, currently the world’s leading cashew processing hub, emerged as the ideal partner, and PSL Machinery, a member of PSL Group, was selected to accompany Tanzania on this industry upgrade.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior government officials, PSL Machinery executives, and representatives of Tanzania’s largest cashew cooperatives, including the Tandahimba Newala Cooperative Union (TANECU), Masasi Mtwara Cooperative Union (MAMCU), and Ruangwa Nachingwea Liwale Cooperative Union (RUNALI). These cooperatives represent tens of thousands of cashew farmers and play a crucial role in the value chain. Their presence emphasizes the importance of ensuring the benefits of this PPP extend from national-level industrial development to grassroots farming communities, which are the backbone of the sector.

With over 20 years of experience across the entire cashew value chain, PSL Machinery is a pioneer in designing and manufacturing modern processing lines that meet international standards. Beyond machinery, the company also offers on-site factory consulting, technology transfer, local workforce training, and operational optimization, ensuring that partners not only access state-of-the-art technology but also gain full mastery of production processes for sustainable growth.
Within the PPP framework, the project aims to significantly strengthen Tanzania’s domestic processing capacity, enable value addition at the source, reduce reliance on raw cashew exports, increase the share of high-value processed products, and create sustainable jobs through training and technology transfer.
Additionally, it will enhance the international competitiveness of Tanzania’s cashew sector.
