Between May and August, hotels and farmers in Penang — a top tourist destination — are rolling out 36 special durian travel packages designed to draw durian enthusiasts with hotel stays and buffet options.

Launched Friday, the government-backed campaign runs through July 31, featuring over 150 activities with participation from more than 100 businesses. Shoppers can expect deep discounts and exclusive perks across retail, hospitality, wellness, entertainment, and air travel.
As part of the events are the Midnight Sales fiesta at AEON Mall Bukit Indah, Johor, on July 25 and 26, featuring deals, balloon drops, lucky draws, live performances, and a lively food bazaar.
The Miss SHOPia Happy Hour, providing flash deals and prizes for a minimum spend of MYR300 (US$70), will take place at Bintang Megamall (July 4-6) and Permaisuri Imperial City Mall (July 11-13), both in Miri, Sarawak.
Additional attractions include Spice and Soul of Malaysia, where visitors can enjoy traditional Malaysian cuisine alongside cultural performances at participating hotels in the Klang Valley.
Shoppers can enjoy discounts of up to 85% at participating malls and outlets nationwide, while the Spend and Win program offers prizes worth up to RM250,000, including a JAECOO J7 SUV and a luxury staycation at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia Airlines is offering up to 30% off on inbound flights to Malaysia from key markets, including Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Japan, India, South Korea, France, and ASEAN countries.
“The nationwide initiative aims to stimulate tourism and retail spending, both domestically and internationally, in anticipation of the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026,” according to Tourism Malaysia.
