During the United States visit, Minh Ngo, Vietnam Citi Country Officer and Banking Head, and Miguel Bates-Mendoza, Global Government Affairs at Citi, met with Nguyen Quoc Dung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the United States, to exchange views on Vietnam’s economic prospects and potential areas for collaboration.

The meeting followed Ngo’s appointment as the first Vietnamese national to lead Citi’s operations in Vietnam.
Discussions focused on Vietnam’s economic development and its integration into the global economy. The bank’s representatives shared its experience in capital market development and cross-border financing and discussed areas including foreign direct investment, trade and investment connectivity, infrastructure and project finance, green finance, digital innovation, and sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure.

The bank has operated in Vietnam for more than 30 years, providing corporate and investment banking, markets, treasury and trade solutions, and securities services to multinational corporations, financial institutions, and domestic companies.
