VICO Fresh coconut creates buzz at trade show

Together with 33 Vietnamese food and beverage businesses, Asia Ingredients Group (AIG) selected the most representative range of products to appear at Asia’s largest food and beverage trade show, Thaifex Anuga 2023.

Tran Huy Nam, director of AIG’s International Business Division, said that the trend for healthy and environmentally friendly food is one of the topics of interest at this year’s trade show. Therefore, AIG decided to choose VICO Fresh coconut water, a product from ACP who are members of AIG, to introduce to international partners.

“VICO Fresh coconut water has asserted its position with a so market share in the domestic market and positive reviews from consumers. This is the driving force for AIG to continue to bring VICO and Vietnamese raw materials to conquer the Thai market, and expand export opportunities to other international markets. This is part of AIG’s efforts to bring Vietnamese agricultural products to the world market,” Nam said.

Since 2014, AIG has invested in building organic material areas in Ben Tre and Tra Vinh, areas famous for coconut trees in Vietnam, to provide high quality raw materials, ensuring that coconut water products are produced from fresh and natural coconuts.

AIG’s coconut area covers over 1000 hectares, where the coconuts are grown and cared for according to organic processes, without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilisers. The harvested coconuts are carefully selected and brought to ACP to be processed into VICO Fresh coconut water.

With advanced UHT sterilisation and modern Tetra Pak packaging systems, Vico coconut water products not only preserve the fresh taste and important nutrients from natural coconut water, but also ensure international food safety and hygiene standards are strictly met.

“The synchronisation of the European-designed production line, combined with highly trained and skilled technical personnel, has created a quality product that is environmentally friendly and good for the health,” said ACP general director Nguyen Ba Ky.

“ACP also focuses on investing in product research and development to stay up to date with the latest food trends around the world. This helps ACP create new flavours of coconut water suitable for different markets. In addition, the company also makes full use of every coconut to produce other coconut derivatives such as coconut milk, coconut milk powder, and desiccated coconut,” Ky added.

The drink quickly became one of the most talked about beverage items at Thaifex Anuga 2023, not only winning over customers at the trade show, but also helping AIG find new partners.

VICO Fresh coconut water has stated its intent in the market and is currently being exported to more than 40 countries, appearing in popular supermarket chains in prestigious markets such as the US, Australia, Europe, Japan and South Korea.

Taking place from May 23-27 at IMPACT International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Bangkok (Thailand), the show featured more than 2,700 exhibitors from 43 countries and 60,000 visitors from over 120 countries to exchange cooperation.
