Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index rose 0.12% to 1,331.92 points Tuesday.
The index closed 1.60 points higher after gaining 8.44 points in the previous session.
Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange increased by 14% to VND22.396 trillion (US$873.9 million).
The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 16 tickers gained.
VRE of retail real estate arm Vincom Retail rose 3.4%, TPB of private TPBank was up 2.1%, and BID of state-owned lender BIDV closed 1.5% higher.
Ten blue chips fell. FPT of tech giant FPT Corporation saw a 1.9% drop, SSI of brokerage SSI Securities Corporation went down 0.9%, MBB of lender MB slipped 0.8%.
Foreign investors were net seller to the tune of VND395 billion, mainly selling FPT and VHM of property giant Vinhomes.
The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, home to mid and small caps, fell 0.58%, while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market went down 0.08%.
