Vietnam’s first electric vehicle (EV) maker VinFast dispatched its largest shipment to Indonesia, with nearly 2,500 units departing from the northern city of Hai Phong on March 8.
This marks the company’s fourth export wave to Indonesia in just one year since officially entering the market.
The latest shipment includes four models, VF 3, VF 5, VF e34, and Nerio Green – all right-hand drive electric vehicles manufactured exclusively for the Indonesian market. They are expected to reach its destination between March 11 and 12.
Indonesia has emerged as one of VinFast’s key markets in Southeast Asia.
VinFast has offered incentives in the market, including free charging at V-Green operated stations until March 1, 2028, cash-back promotions and gifts for early buyers, and a buyback guarantee of up to 90% of the vehicle’s value.
The company’s operations in Indonesia are supported by strategic ecosystem partners like GSM and V-Green. Xanh SM, an electric taxi service using 100% VinFast vehicles, was officially launched in December last year and is expanding.
Meanwhile, global charging infrastructure developer V-Green is accelerating the construction of thousands of charging stations across multiple cities.
VinFast Global Deputy CEO of Sales Duong Thi Thu Trang said 2025 is a crucial year for VinFast in the market, adding the company is completing the construction of its factory to begin assembling EVs locally.
