The family that founded Singapore’s renowned Green Bus Company has listed a bungalow for sale at SGD60 million (US$47 million) in a luxury area with low population.
The property, owned by the family of co-founder Ong Chin Chuan, spans nearly 24,200 square feet with three-storey mixed landed zoning, according to The Business Times.
It is located on Dunearn Road in the prestigious District 11, close to Good Class Bungalow zones within the same district.

The property could be “redeveloped into either four detached houses or two pairs of semi-detached and a detached,” according to Nicholas Ng, senior director at JLL, the firm marketing the property.
The location “is well sought after by discerning buyers seeking a peaceful, low-density living environment,” he added.
Constructed in the 1950s, the house has been a multi-generational residence for over 70 years, once housing four generations.
“It represents the significance of the estate, which holds the legacy of the Ong family,” said Patrick Ong, the great grandson of Chuan, as reported by property platform EdgeProp.
The Green Bus Company was among the earliest providers of cross-border public bus services. Originally named Rochor Bus Co, it was co-founded in 1935 by Chuan, whose descendants own the property.
In 1971, the bus operator merged into the United Bus Company, one of three major bus companies formed from 10 private operators.
In 1973, the government intervened to reorganize the public bus system, establishing Singapore Bus Services.
