Samsung Vietnam has appointed Na Ki Hong as its new CEO starting Mar. 1.
Hong, 59, will replace Choi Joo Ho, who has led the company for six years, according to a company statement.
The new CEO joined Samsung in 1990. He has held numerous positions within the South Korean behemoth, including roles in human resources, future strategies, R&D, and wireless devices development.

Between 2020 and 2024, Hong served as Executive Vice President of Human Resources at the corporation.
He was also the head of human resources for Samsung Electronics and made significant contributions to enhancing the global competitiveness of Samsung’s business in this area.
In his new role, Hong affirmed that he would make every effort to maintain Samsung’s position as the largest foreign direct investor in Vietnam and contribute to the country’s economic development.
Samsung has registered to invest over $23 billion in Vietnam. It fetched $62.5 billion in revenue and exported $54.4 billion in goods last year.
The company has 300 domestic suppliers after more than 10 years of development in Vietnam.
Hong’s predecessor Ho had earlier told Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh that the company would continue to expand its investment into new fields, including AI.
In Vietnam, the South Korea chaebol has six factories.
In September last year, the northern province of Bac Ninh and Samsung Display signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a screen and electronic components project worth $1.8 billion.
