Johnson & Johnson Vietnam said the partnerships will continue into 2026 with an expanded focus on supporting people living with psoriasis.
Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated inflammatory disease that can affect more than the skin but remains under-recognized in Vietnam. Misconceptions that the condition is minor, temporary, or cosmetic may contribute to delayed diagnosis and fragmented care, particularly among patients with moderate to severe disease.
An estimated 288,580 Vietnamese adults are living with psoriasis, representing roughly 0.3% of the adult population. The disease can affect areas including the scalp, face, nails, palms, and soles, potentially influencing daily activities, social interactions, and psychological well-being.
Misunderstandings about psoriasis, including the belief that it is contagious, may contribute to stigma and discourage individuals from seeking medical consultation. Access to advanced therapies and multidisciplinary management also varies across regions, creating ongoing challenges for care delivery.

In response, the three-pillar collaboration framework aims to improve clinical consistency, expand patient education, and support dermatology leadership in developing care standards. The initiative also seeks to encourage earlier consultation and improve coordination along the treatment pathway.
Between Jan. 26 and Feb. 8, 2026, psoriasis awareness displays were held at the partner hospitals. The exhibitions presented patient stories and educational materials addressing common misconceptions, while emphasizing that psoriasis can be effectively managed with appropriate medical care.
