Hanoi Centre for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion (HPA) on July 7 held a conference to promote investment, trade and tourism cooperation with central provinces.
Held in the central province of Quang Binh, the event aimed to strengthen investment, trade and tourism ties with investors, businesses, organisations in Quang Binh and other northern central provinces.
The conference attracted the participation of about 200 delegates who are leaders of Hanoi, and central cities and provinces of Quang Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue and Danang, as well as relevant departments agencies, and representatives from business associations, and the business community.

During the event, many activities were held to introduce potential, strengths, special products, as well as discuss business and investment opportunities.
The event showed the strong determination of Hanoi authorities and regional provinces in promoting consumption of Vietnamese products in Hanoi, nationwide, and in the international market, thus contributing to socioeconomic development.
Addressing the event, Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, deputy director of HPA said, “In a period of deep and wide international integration with many intertwined opportunities and challenges, Hanoi has identified the business community as an important driving force for the city’s development and integration.”

She added Hanoi’s work on investment trade and tourism promotion would focus on innovating investment and trade activities in both content and implementation, diversifying investment attraction partners, as well as developing products, expanding the market and enhancing exports.
The city is also shifting its export structure towards increasing added value, encouraging the export of processed and manufactured products and those with high technological content, while strengthening cooperation to develop supply chains of products and goods, and accelerating IT application and digital transformation in trade promotion.
Over the past years, infrastructure for trade activities in Hanoi has been strongly developed, attracting top foreign-invested businesses to develop huge trade distribution centres like AEON, LOTTE, MM Mega Market; FUJIMART, as well as leading domestic Vietnamese ones like Winmart, Co-op Mart and others.
