Hanoi and HCMC are among eight most livable Southeast Asian destinations for expats thanks to their unique cultural appeal and robust economic potential, according to a recent ranking.
Hanoi was placed at the seventh place and considered an “underrated” gem in the region for nomads seeking a culturally rich experience, distinct from the more commercialized offerings of cities like Bangkok or Singapore, according to global tax and investment consultancy Nomad Capitalist.

Kuala Lumpur topped the list as the best expat destination, praised for its English-speaking population, excellent connectivity, and high quality of life.
Other cities featured in the ranking include Singapore, Bangkok, Manila, Hong Kong, and Bali.
Nomad Capitalist compiled the list based on factors of foreign accessibility, efficiency, variety of available services, lifestyle options, and travel connectivity.
