Vietnam gasoline prices tumbled to the lowest in five years Thursday afternoon.
The popular fuel RON95 dropped 1.82% to VND18,850 (US$0.73) per liter.
Biofuel E5 RON92 declined by 2.07% to VND18,490.
Diesel fell 1.22% to VND17,030.
Regulators said that fuel prices in the past seven days were influenced by various factors, including changes in U.S. tariffs on imports from trading partners, increased oil production by OPEC+, and the International Energy Agency’s forecast of slower oil demand growth this year.
RON95 dropped 2.2% to $73.7 per barrel while diesel declined by 1.2% to $78.5.
