American automaker Ford is recalling over 21,100 cars in Vietnam to fix their infotainment screens that crash when displaying images from the rearview camera.
In some Ranger, Ranger Raptor and Everest cars, the screen sometimes freezes and restarts while reversing, increasing the risk of collisions, according to Ford Vietnam.
The problem has been found in both vehicles assembled in Vietnam and imported.

The recall includes 11,002 Ranger cars manufactured between August 2022 and April last year, 7,947 Everests made between December 2021 and April 2024 and 2,179 Raptors manufactured between April 2022 and May 2024.
The latter two were built at Ford’s factory in Thailand and imported.
Ford said its authorized dealerships would carry out the repairs free of charge.
This is not the first major recall by Ford in Vietnam for display faults.
Just in May this year it recalled nearly 1,000 Explorer SUVs for failures with the rearview and 360-degree camera displays.
The vehicles had been produced in the U.S. between January 2019 and July 2023 and imported.
