The HAWA Expo and VIFA Expo are highly anticipated annual trade shows, attracting international visitors and exhibitors from across the globe.
At HAWA Expo 2025, Canadian Wood Vietnam presented furniture collections from four local manufacturers participating in the Canadian Wood Trial Program. Under this initiative, manufacturers received Canadian lumber and technical support, demonstrating Canadian Wood’s commitment to helping Vietnamese producers access new materials and connect with potential buyers.

At VIFA Expo 2025, marking its 16th edition, Canadian Wood Vietnam engaged with international attendees. Participating for the fifth consecutive year, the company showcased furniture collections crafted from five prominent Canadian softwood species: Western Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar, and Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF).
Visitors explored furniture color panels displaying various shades, from light to dark, highlighting the versatility and compatibility of Canadian wood with diverse finishes and colors.

Vince Tran, Country Director of Canadian Wood Vietnam, said that they are encouraged by the growing awareness and interest in Canada’s sustainable wood products, as reflected in the significant turnout at the trade shows.
“Our priority is to support manufacturers in selecting and utilizing wood species from British Columbia, Canada, for high-quality furniture applications. These activities are part of our work in this important market and our contribution to the growth of Vietnam’s wood industry,” Tran said.
“As sustainability and eco-friendly products become central to furniture manufacturing, Canadian species have gained significant popularity,” he added “Positive feedback from manufacturers and furniture designers further reinforces the versatility and suitability of our products for a wide range of applications.”

In 2024, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs, Vietnam’s wood and furniture exports surged to $16.25 billion, marking a 20% increase from the previous year and solidifying the country’s position as a global furniture manufacturing hub.
As the industry targets $18 billion in exports by 2025, manufacturers are increasingly prioritizing sustainability, legal sourcing, and transparency. The shift toward certified wood and sustainable production is not just a response to regulatory requirements but a necessary move to align with evolving global market trends.
Amid the growing demand for sustainable materials, Canadian wood stands out as a trusted resource and global leader in sustainable forest management. Canada accounts for nearly 41% of all certified forests globally, the largest share of any country.
Lumber imported from Canada meets rigorous standards set by global certification programs, the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), providing Vietnamese manufacturers with reliable access to legally, sustainably sourced, high-quality wood that complies with the requirements of global retailers.
By participating in these trade shows, part of an array of annual activities, Canadian Wood Vietnam continues to build awareness, promote sustainable wood solutions, and expand its presence in Vietnam’s thriving wood industry. This ongoing engagement not only strengthens its industry presence but also highlights Canadian Wood Vietnam’s dedication to connecting Vietnam’s manufacturers with reliable sources of sustainable, certified wood products.
