The 25 best jobs in the U.S. this year are primarily in healthcare, social services, technology, and business, with salaries of up to $219,000 a year.
Nearly half of the list consists of jobs in healthcare, including nursing, medical assisting, and health management, according to ranking organization U.S. News.
Nurse practitioner topped the list for the second consecutive year, as professionals are expected to earn an annual median salary of $126,000 in an industry with an unemployment rate of only 0.6%.
U.S. News predicted that by 2033, the nursing profession will still lead with a growth rate of 46.3%, or 135,500 new jobs.
It was followed by IT manager with a salary of 169,500. The sector has an unemployment rate of 1.4%.
In the third place was physician assistant. Employees are expected to earn around $130,000, and the unemployment rate is 1.6%.
Ranking at the bottom three on the list are respiratory therapist (25th), lawyer and occupational therapist, with a salary range of between $78,000 and $145,700.
The median income of the 25 professions mostly falls within the range of $90,000 – $120,000 per year.
Some with higher incomes include pilot, nurse anesthetist, IT manager, financial manager, and lawyer, at approximately $145,000 – $219,000.
